Every policy decision comes back to one basic question:
Does it make life better for Iowa families and our communities?
My approach is grounded in three simple commitments:
Strong Families. Strong Communities. Strong Future.
These priorities shape how I look at every issue — from taxes and schools to water, energy, and economic growth.
Strong families are the foundation of everything that works.
Today, too many Iowa families are:
Working harder than ever
Paying more for the basics
Feeling less secure than they should
We need policies that:
Support fair wages and stable jobs
Make healthcare and childcare more affordable
Keep housing within reach
Stop shifting costs onto working families through hidden tax increases
I will fight for policies that recognize the real pressures families face — and make it easier to build a stable life here in Iowa.
For too many families, the math just isn’t working anymore.
Property taxes continue to rise for homeowners while corporations skip out.
Healthcare and insurance costs keep climbing.
Everyday expenses eat up more of each paycheck.
We need:
Honest, transparent tax policy
Relief for working families and seniors
An end to shell games that shift the tax burden without fixing the underlying system
A fair balance between what households pay and what services they receive
I will push for clear, responsible decisions that don’t quietly move costs onto those least able to absorb them.
Our land and water are among Iowa’s greatest assets — and our greatest responsibilities.
Clean water, healthy soil, and productive farmland are not partisan issues. They affect:
Public health
Farm profitability
Recreation
Local economies
The legacy we leave to our kids
We must:
Invest in water quality solutions that actually work
Support farmers as stewards of the land
Pair conservation with economic sustainability
Take a long-term view instead of relying on short-term fixes
Good stewardship strengthens both our environment and our economy.
Strong communities need infrastructure that works — today and tomorrow.
That means:
Roads and bridges that are safe and reliable
Water and wastewater systems that can support growth
Broadband that reaches every home and business
Energy systems that are affordable, reliable, and forward-looking
I support:
Thoughtful investment in infrastructure
Energy policies that balance reliability, cost, and sustainability
Local decision-making about how projects affect communities
Short-term savings should never undermine long-term stability.
Iowa’s future depends on the people who build, repair, grow, teach, care for, and serve our communities.
We are facing:
Skilled labor shortages
An aging workforce
Growing demand in the trades, healthcare, education, and technical fields
We must:
Strengthen career and technical education
Support apprenticeships and the trades
Respect service workers and caregivers
Ensure workers can afford to live in the communities they serve
Healthcare should be about keeping people healthy — not forcing families into impossible financial choices.
Too many Iowans struggle with:
High premiums and deductibles
Limited rural access
Mental health and substance use care gaps
Long wait times for basic services
We need to:
Protect access to affordable care
Strengthen rural healthcare systems
Expand mental health resources
Ensure families don’t have to choose between treatment and financial ruin
Small, locally owned businesses are the heart of our towns and neighborhoods.
They:
Create local jobs
Keep dollars circulating in our communities
Give our towns their character and resilience
State policy should:
Make it easier — not harder — to start and sustain small businesses
Prioritize local investment
Avoid favoring large, out-of-state corporations at the expense of community-based businesses
Strong schools are the backbone of strong communities.
Every child deserves:
A safe learning environment
Well-supported teachers
Modern facilities
A real chance to succeed — no matter their ZIP code
We must:
Fully support public education
Address teacher shortages and burnout
Invest in career, technical, and apprenticeship pathways
Make sure growing communities have the school funding they need to keep up
Education isn’t an expense. It’s one of the smartest long-term investments we can make.
None of these issues exist in isolation. Families are affected by taxes, schools, healthcare, infrastructure, and the health of our land — all at once.
That’s why my approach is simple:
Listen first
Focus on real-life impacts
And build solutions that last
If these priorities reflect your values, I’d be honored to have your support.
